Restorative Discipline Practices (2 day training)



ESC-20 provides training, technical assistance, and resources to help schools positively change student behavior and improve student achievement.
 


Important Session Information:


In this 2 day training, participants will learn the foundations needed for successful implementation of restorative practices to improve the culture and climate by enhancing pro-social relationships within the school community.  We will examine the differences between traditional consequences, zero tolerance polices versus restorative practices.  Examining the research and the results of using restorative practices will provide a deeper understanding the significant impact restorative practices can have on schools.  We will focus on essential components of restorative practices that will extend dialogue using effective language to build a strong sense of community that will positively impact campus and classroom culture using circles, conferences, chats, etc. Participants will have the opportunity to practice planing, prepping and facilitating restorative circles based on the scenarios provided.
