G/T 6 hour update:Writing to learn in ALL of the Content Areas (grades 6-12)



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


ALL Content and Elective teachers and leaders will learn how to enrich their content instruction using easy-to-implement writing-to-learn strategies. 

The strategies in this workshop will engage student interest by activating background knowledge, assisting students’ processing of new information, and providing opportunities for reflecting on learning.

Learn how to simultaneously support our students’ literacy and content success!

NOTE: This  session can count for a G/T Day 4, Day 5 or 6-Hour Update if not previously   taken.
