We all aspire to teach for depth. However, given the number of standards we must address, and the short period of time we’re allotted to address them, we often find ourselves hurrying to “cover the material” rather than taking time to dig deeply into it. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do both? Dr. Eric Jensen’s Deeper Learning Cycle provides a way.
Teaching for Deeper Learning introduces teachers to the Deeper Learning Cycle—a four-stage model of instruction that not only allows teachers to cover the standards but to do so in a way that provides gifted students with the deep and complex learning they crave. Participants will experience the Deeper Learning Cycle first-hand, working with a specified content and then engaging in a number of processing strategies that easily translate to any classroom.
This training can take the place of a G/T Day 4 or 5 for the Foundational Hours or a G/T 6 hour update if not previously taken.
