Meeting the academic and functional needs of students with multiple disabilities can be very challenging. These students typically access the curriculum through participation, acknowledgement, and hands-on activities that are sensory and experiential in nature. In regard to STAAR Alternate 2, these students typically demonstrate learning at Level I or no authentic academic response (NAAR).
During this series, participants will:
- review research-based protocols for determining access and building communication;
- review how to differentiate lessons to make learning meaningful; and
- review how to use assistive technology including a variety of switches to provide access to the world around them.
Participants will receive a collection of protocols and tools throughout the series that will be most beneficial in building a program that is research-based and meets the needs for these unique learners!
