Service Animals – (AM: 3 Hours)
Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities. This session will address what the public school can and cannot ask, what can be expected of the service animal and its provider, as well as how to prepare both staff and students for having a service animal on campus.
Executive Functions and Section 504 – (PM: 3 Hours)
Executive Functions have recently been mentioned as possibly being covered under Section 504 in both the recently released ADHD Guidance Document and the Dept. of Justice Title II Regulations of the ADAAA. This session will review what Executive Functions are, common disorders where Executive Functions are seen, and classroom observations and strategies to help the teacher.
