Career & Technology Education (CTE)
(CTE) NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) ICTP – Instructor Craft Training Program - 3 day initial training for craft trade teachers and Agriculture teachers CANCELED

CTE instruction aims at developing foundational skills, core workplace competencies, and specific skill competencies in various occupational areas. Internships, practicums, cooperative education, school-based enterprises, dual enrollment programs, and apprenticeships are a few venues that deliver CTE by providing meaningful opportunities for leaners to apply their academic and technical skills. We serve the career and education community through targeted support for CTE compliance, program development and implementation with rigor and relevancy; bridging with postsecondary education and industry partners to build a global workforce, quality education programs and 21st century learners.

Important Session Information:

Due to low enrollment, this workshop, scheduled for June 6-8, 2018, has been canceled.

Special NOTE - This workshop is being held at the ABC Central Texas Office in Austin, 2600 Longhorn Blvd, #105, Austin, TX, 78758 Contact Stephanie Nelson at stephainie@abccentraltexas for housing information

This three-day training is for CTE teachers (Agriculture and Craft Teachers) who have never previously been certified with NCCER through the ICTP (Instructor Craft Training Program) and have never taught the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum.
The NCCER ICTP training program provides CTE teachers with skills and credentials to turn the NCCER certification training around in their classroom to certify CTE students with nationally and internationally recognized industry ready portable credentials. Developed by industry experts and trainers, the units are competency based and contain certifications that complement the TEKS for several CTE courses in the AFNR and Architecture, Construction and Manufacturing Career Clusters.
NCCER develops standardized construction and maintenance curriculum with assessments that can be awarded to students with portable credentials. These credentials are tracked through NCCER's registry that allows business and industry organizations and companies to track the qualifications of their craft professionals and/or check the qualifications of potential new hires.
