Setting the Struggling Writer Free



ESC-20 provides training and technical support related to inclusive services for students with disabilities to gain access to the general curriculum. These supports provide strategies so students with disabilities are actively involved and progress within the general curriculum and on state assessments.

Important Session Information:


Do you currently have students receiving special education services or at risk students in your classroom who struggle with writing? Are you racking your brain trying to find strategies that will help your struggling writers? If so, this training will provide you with strategies and tools to help students break free of barriers in writing.

Participants will learn research-based strategies in expository writing that will inspire students and strengthen their writing skills. Participants will journey through the writing process, student samples, rubrics, technology that supports writing, and the use of mentor text to enhance the balanced literacy classroom. Participants will learn how to strengthen their students’ writing skills through powerful lessons that meet students’ needs at multiple levels of instruction. Come and learn how to maximize various scaffolding tools to support all learners.
