New Transition Designee (TESD) and teachers/coordinators who collect and enter data for Indicators 13 and 14 are encouraged to attend this session. The session will provide an overview of both indicators 13 and 14. Start the year out on the right track with preparation of Inidividual Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the federal compliance of both Indicators 13 and 14.
Indicator 13 provides a way to measure how well they are doing in addressing secondary transition, a process which facilitates the movement of students toward their post-secondary goals.
Indicator 14 requires that data be collected annually from students receiving special education services prior to graduation from high school and with a follow-up survey one year after graduation. Data collected focuses on enrollment in higher education, competitive employment, other post-secondary education, or training and other employment. The primary purpose is to provide a clear measure of post-school results of youth with disabilities as they transition from high school to adult life.
