Important Session Information:

This workshop will concentrate on brain-based strategies to engage and motivate all students. We will discuss how to meet the needs of at risk, gifted and talented, special education and English Language Learner students by using brain-based strategies that will motivate and engage all learners. We will focus and explore the use of music, movement, cooperative learning, graphic organizers and games to make lessons more fun and meaningful.  Understanding how the brain remembers information is an important tool for all teachers. We will learn about different techniques that can help students remember lessons and make those memories permanent. We will discuss how this learner-center approach to teaching relates to the new teacher evaluation system T-TESS. Participants will leave with a menu of activities they could use right away in the classroom without much preparation needed.

Alicia Alvarez-Calderon is the presenter and will be delivering this session.
