G/T 6 hour update: English Learners/Giftedness



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


How does the EL brain learn? What are the best practices for identification of gifted EL students? This session is designed to explore how the EL brain learns based on David Sousa's book and the best practices associated with identifying, retaining, and serving gifted learners in this special population. NOTE: This session can count for a G/T Day 4, Day 5 or 6-Hour Update if not previously taken
