Career & Technology Education (CTE)
CTE Classroom Management Series: Develop Self-Directed Students
CTE instruction aims at developing foundational skills, core workplace competencies, and specific skill competencies in various occupational areas. Internships, practicums, cooperative education, school-based enterprises, dual enrollment programs, and apprenticeships are a few venues that deliver CTE by providing meaningful opportunities for leaners to apply their academic and technical skills. We serve the career and education community through targeted support for CTE compliance, program development and implementation with rigor and relevancy; bridging with postsecondary education and industry partners to build a global workforce, quality education programs and 21st century learners.

Important Session Information:
This workshop is for new and veteran teachers alike. In this session participants will transform their classroom into a high-performing learning environment where students become self-directed, independent thinkers, problem-solvers and successful! Students set time-bound measurable learning targets, identify strategies to successfully meet the targets, study the results that measure the target, and act on the results. Participants will learn how to successfully use classroom data, individual student data and student-led conferences that can be utilized during parent meetings and/or ARD meeting. This system is the most effective way to improve classroom learning results. Participants will see actual classroom examples and develop a draft plan for improvement.
The scientific-based research used in this session is from Malcolm Baldridge Education Criteria for Performance Excellence which focuses on the best current research in what it takes to make schools and classrooms quality learning places for ALL students.
