Important Session Information:

From the requirements in IDEA, to the Department of Labor guidance, this workshop will assist special education personnel in developing and operating a quality, legally-compliant Work-Based Learning program for students graduating under one of the Indivdualized Education Program (IEP) options, including competitive employment, specific employability skills, and/or access to outside agency services.

Nancy Hunter will present and show VAC and Work Based Learning (WBL) teachers how Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicaid Waivers, volunteerism, and campus-based, student-led enterprises can each play a key role in the development of a successful program that takes into consideration the unique needs of individual students.  Become familiar with teacher and job coach responsibilities, the needed documentation trail, transition plan evidence, appropriate course titles, transcript coding, and graduation credit options.
