It is highly recommended that you attend this training with your co-teacher.
Schools are exploring various inclusive service delivery models to fulfill the needs of diverse learners. The co-teach model is one effective model allowing general and special educators to differentiate and deliver instruction with assurances that all students have full access to the grade-level expectations of the general curriculum.
This training is developed from the Texas Co-Teaching Guidelines and participants will receive a copy of the "How to Guide: Guidelines for Co-Teaching in Texas."
After attending this training, teaching teams will leave with knowledge of:
• A common vocabulary: Co-Teaching, Inclusion, and Progress in the General Curriculum;
• Definition and purpose of Co-Teaching;
• What Co-Teaching is and is not;
• Six Co-Teaching Approaches;
• Roles and responsibilities of both the general and special education teachers; and
• Tools for building co-teaching relationships.
