Do you have students who have trouble: organizing work, completing tasks, managing materials, managing time, paying attention, or have handling social situations? These are all cognitive skills that are referred to as Executive Functioning Skills. Executive Functioning Skills greatly impact student achievement and are often an associated feature of developmental or learning disabilities. They can be caused by a mismatch between a student's neuro-developmental stage and the demands of their environment. This session will focus on ways in which teachers can use appropriate strategies to support children’s developing executive skills, while helping improve academic performance as well.
