Important Session Information:

PRC believes in providing single words for novel communication.  In this five-hour product training, participants will learn about Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) Words for Life (WFL) vocabularies, programming and customizing, and basic implementation strategies. The difference between LAMP and LAMP WFL will be discussed as well as the three levels of LAMP WFL: 84 1-hit, 84 transition and 84 full.  The first segment will provide hands-on practice with the vocabulary.  The second segment will cover customizing and adding words to the vocabulary. The third section will review basic implementation strategies to get someone talking with LAMP WFL on an Accent, PRiO, or iPad loaded with the LAMP Words for Life application.  A variety of tools and strategies for teaching LAMP WFL will be reviewed. Hands-on practice is encouraged throughout the course, so come prepared to learn and practice.

Devices for this training are not required as the site is providing computers.  If you choose to bring a device or laptop computer, please bring an Accent 1400/1200/1000/800 with the latest software version, PRiO, iPad loaded with the LAMP Words for Life app, or laptop computer pre-loaded with the PASS software for Accent.  If you want to use a Mac laptop you will need a Windows 7 emulator with PASS installed.  PASS software is not compatible with iPads.  Please update the Accent device software to the current version.

This training is appropriate for SLPs (Speech and Language Pathologists), OTs (Occupational Therapists), ATPs (Assistive Technology Practitioners), educators, family members, and others who support individuals who currently use or may need to use a PRC device.
