Why Can't This Student Read? - Understanding the Driving Factors Behind Reading Learning Disabilities (Readers, assessment, intervention)



ESC-20 provides training and technical support related to inclusive services for students with disabilities to gain access to the general curriculum. These supports provide strategies so students with disabilities are actively involved and progress within the general curriculum and on state assessments.

What paves the path to the identification of a Specific Learning Disability in Reading?  This workshop explores the diagnostic nature of learning disability identification in the academic areas associated with literacy.  Join us to find out what cognitive brain functions are the keys to discovering patterns of strengths and weaknesses in reading, and explore how to use this information to formulate Individual Education Programs (IEPs) that are specifically designed for each student.  Learn how to connect cognitive skills that underlie disabilities to classroom instruction and accommodation for increased effectiveness.
