The learning outcome of this session will be bridging specialized instructional supports that align with state testing requirement to meet the needs of all writers. The morning will consist of a STAAR Calibration where participants will have a hands-on interactive look at the STAAR writing task, expectations, trends, and implication for instruction. In the afternoon, we will analyze STAAR writing accommodations/ embedded supports and collaboratively make connections to in class accommodations and assistive technology. This session is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers who support students taking STAAR and STAAR online writing assessments.
