This session is open to participants who are familiar with DBQs, have implemented a DBQ in their classroom and/or looking for ways to improve historical analysis and argumentative writing in their classrooms. Participants will review the DBQ process, focusing on engagement and extending the discussion on writing the analytical essay with a special emphasis on the evidence and support needed for a powerful body paragraph. Participants will leave with more strategies on developing stronger argumentative writing and gain a great deal of knowledge on how to modify DBQ units to meet the needs of their own students.
