Patterns of Strengths and Weakness for Specific Learning Disability (SLD) Identification
ESC-20 provides resources, training and technical assistance for evaluators. Quarterly contact group meetings for LSSP’s and Educational Diagnosticians are also provided.
Important Session Information:
The federal regulations indicate that specific learning disability (SLD) identification must be made utilizing a variety of assessment tools and strategies. This session will focus on the patterns of strengths and weaknesses (PSW) approach to SLD identification, exploring commonalities and differences of prominent methods. Additionally, participants will explore integration of qualitative and quantitative data from various sources (e.g, informal data, standardized and non-standardized tests) to inform recommendations and connect with instruction.
