To prevent and resolve challenging behaviors displayed in young children, early childhood teachers must have a full understanding of what's behind the behaviors and the strategies that will really work. Teachers will leave this training with targeted approaches to implement that are geared towards meeting the needs of children who struggle with behavioral challenges.
Taking a big picture approach, we will inform teachers about what "challenging behaviors" are in contrast to developmental behaviors. And what are the influences on these challenging behaviors—including temperament, personality, home life, and personal relationships—it will also arm teachers with the tools they need to support the children and families they serve.
Going beyond "one size fits all" strategies, this training will give teachers the opportunity to provide positive, customized behavior supports to young children with and without disabilities—and ensure that all students can get ready to learn in a safe and nurturing environment.
