Grants Administration
ZOOM version: Fiscal Compliance Special Education for ISDs and Charter Schools: Maintenance of Effort (MOE) Fiscal Year 2018 Compliance Analysis

Fiscal and Programmatic topics related to the administration of grants

Important Session Information:

This is the version for attending via ZOOM (webinar). If you wish to attend in person, please register for session #50413.

Maintenance of Effort (MOE) is a federal fiscal requirement for any local educational agency (LEA), which includes ISDs and Open-Enrollment Charter Schools, that receives Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Part B (IDEA-B) funds.

The MOE requirement is applicable as well to members of a special education shared services arrangement (SSA) whose Fiscal Agent receives the IDEA-B funds on their behalf.

This free workshop will provide participants an opportunity to determine their Fiscal Year 2018 IDEA-B MOE Preliminary Compliance.

All participants will have an opportunity to perform a guided activity for understanding how to determine preliminary compliance, using sample data.

ESC-20 will also provide one set of LEA-specific data reports for each Region 20 LEA represented (if you register by March 18, 2019).

If you are from an LEA outside of Region 20, please contact Denise Dusek for a list of documents you will need to perform the activity with your LEA-specific data.

CPE/CEU INFORMATION for CPAs and TASBO-Certified Participants:

Specialized credit hours for CPAs and TASBO-Certified participants cannot be awarded to participants who attend via webinar because ESC-20 does not have the capability of monitoring virtual attendance. If you wish to earn these specialized credit hours, you must attend the session in person. Please register for session #50413 to attend in person instead of registering for this ZOOM session.

All ZOOM participants will receive a Connect20 certificate of attendance. The Connect20 certificate should not be used to report credit hours to TSBPA or TASBO since the hours on the certificate do not align with the requirements of TSBPA and TASBO.
