Pre-K and Early Education Collaborative (PEEC) Series: Small Steps – A Process for Providing Intentional Instructional Support in the Early Childhood Classroom



Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Teachers will be introduced to, learn, and engage in the S.T.E.P.S Process. STEPS is designed to provide teachers with an intentional plan to increase student language and vocabulary, improve teacher feedback, and create opportunities understanding of concepts through active learning.
