Important Session Information:

**This session will be presented by Stephanie Walker, Lead for the State Leadership Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SLSBVI) Network.**

Professionals that serve students with visual impairments (teacher of the visually impaired (TVI), certified orientation and mobility specialist (COMS)) are faced with the unique challenge off addressing students from birth to 21, with a wide variety of needs associated with vision loss and possible additional impairments. Professionals will analyze and discuss state and local practices in meeting the unique needs of children with visual impairments beginning at birth.  Evaluations in the expanded core curriculum (ECC) will be explored and professionals will formulate a plan to organize and develop a system of documenting and addressing the ECC yearly. Time will be given to answering questions related to serving this unique population. It is highly encouraged that district teams of professionals, TVI and COMS, attend together as we will be working to identify and document local processes in addressing the expanded core curriculum.
