COVID-19 Adaptation: Out of an abundance of caution, this session will be offered virtually. Due to this change, the format has changed. Participants will participate in a 2-hour Zoom and complete outside assignments to accrue the remaining four hours of credit.
Participants must have a desktop or laptop to participate, along with an adequate internet connection. Active participation of various forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit.

This session will require participants to join an ESC-20 Google Classroom. If your district has not white-listed Region 20 Google Account: @esc20.info, you may be required to use a personal Gmail account in order to complete assignments. Participants will be required to complete the outside assignment in order to receive credit for the session.
This session will review the requirements that all students in kindergarten and first grade be screened for dyslexia. Participants will review Chapter 2 of the Dyslexia Handbook, 2018 Update to better understand federal and state requirements, selecting and administering a screener, interpreting data, and ongoing progress monitoring.
This session meets the criteria outlined in TAC §232.11 regarding continuing professional education hours required to renew teacher certification through the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).
