This session will provide diagnosticians and licensed specialists in school psychology (LSSPs) with the additional knowledge needed to identify students with dyslexia. Participants will enhance their understanding of the characteristics of dyslexia and the related state and federal laws. Participants will analyze case studies to practice looking for patterns of strengths and weakness that indicate dyslexia.
***Due to COVID19, this session will take place virtually, and will be a combination of Zoom interaction and independent assignments completed during the 8:30-3:30pm session time. The schedule is included below:
- 8:30-10:30am - Participants will join session via Zoom
- 10:30am-2:00pm - Participants will complete individual assignments and take a lunch break
- 2:00-3:30pm - Participants will come back together to finish the session via Zoom
Note: This session will take place in the form of a webinar. Participants must have a desktop, laptop or
Chromebook in order to participate, along with an adequate internet connection. Active participation of various
forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit.
