Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee-Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Collaboration



ESC-20 provides training and technical support related to inclusive services for students with disabilities to gain access to the general curriculum. These supports provide strategies so students with disabilities are actively involved and progress within the general curriculum and on state assessments.
 


Use of Quality Data to Drive Instruction

Important Session Information:


During this session, an overview of the collaborative process between the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee and the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) will be provided.  For students with disabilities who are English Language Learners, the ARD committee in conjunction with the LPAC work collaboratively to make entry decisions, determine services, make decisions regarding state assessment decisions, and identify exit criteria. Additionally, the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) Alternate will be discussed. This session provides references to current statutes and regulations and identifies best practices to follow when the ARD committee works in conjunction with the LPAC.
