ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for teachers of students with disabilities ages 3-5 years (birth - 5 years for students with visual and/or hearing impairments).

Update: Due to ESC-20 Maples Conference Center being closed this session will now be offered via zoom. Zoom dates are scheduled for Monday, April 20th and Tuesday, April 21st from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Participants will need to attend both half day zoom sessions in order to receive credit for the course

Many early learners enter school without an effective way to communicate and are not yet using verbal speech. This session will support teachers in creating a learning environment that meets all students' communication needs. An overview of augmentative and alternative communication systems will be provided as well as strategies to create and support student use of effective functional communication systems based on individual needs.
