Important Session Information:

*This session is being rescheduled to Thursday, June 18, 2020 and will be held virtually via Zoom.*

A full and individual evaluation is required to determine whether a student is eligible for special education services as a student with a Specific Learning Disability. Texas Administrative Code (TAC) indicates that a student with a learning disability is an individual who meets federal criteria for a learning disability, demonstrates underachievement in one or more of the eight academic areas and either does not make sufficient progress in response to evidence-based intervention or exhibits a pattern of strengths and weakness in performance, achievement, or both relative to age, grade level standards or intellectual ability. This session will focus on known best practices for the identification of specific learning disabilities and subsequent recommendations.
