CANCELED Understanding the Culture of Poverty July 25, 2019
ESC-20 School Support team provides a variety of training options in the areas of school improvement, turnaround, data management support, professional learning communities.
Important Session Information:
People in poverty face challenges virtually unknown to those in the middle class – challenges from both obvious and hidden sources. The reality of being poor brings out a survival mentality in our students that we as educators may not understand. This workshop is intended to assist educators, administrators, and counselors to better understand our economically disadvantaged students. The research is taken from the work of Ruby Payne and her book, “A Framework for Understanding Poverty.”
