This training session will be presented in two parts. First we will explore our sense of taste and flavor. What are the differences? Why do we taste the way we taste? Why does sodium make food taste better? What role does aroma play in how we taste? What is Umami anyway? During out first section we will explore these questions and more. Next we will take a closer look into how spices and herbs can help elevate our recipes. We will explore the differences between spices and herbs, when to use them and best practices to get the most flavor. We will learn the differences and characteristics of these ingredients through culinary demonstrations and tastings.
