Thursday, November 5; Pablo Cartaya - author of the critically acclaimed middle grade novels The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora (a 2018 Pura Belpre Honor Book) and Marcus Vega Doesn’t Speak Spanish. Each Tiny Spark debuted on the new Kokila Penguin/Random House Imprint, which focuses on publishing diverse books for children and young adults.
Friday, November 6; Matt Phelan - author/illustrator of four graphic novels: the Scott O’Dell Award-winning The Storm in the Barn, Around the World, Bluffton, and the New York Times bestseller Snow White. He is also the author/illustrator of the picture books Druthers and Pignic, and the chapter book Knights VS. Dinosaurs and its sequels.
Matt has illustrated many books for young readers including Flora’s Very Windy Day by Jeanne Birdsall, Marilyn’s Monster by Michelle Knudsen, Xander’s Panda Party by Linda Sue Park, and The Higher Power of Lucky by Susan Patron, winner of the 2007 Newbery Medal.
