This workshop focuses on the assessment of students with suspected articulation impairments that might qualify them for speech services in the schools. Specific formal and informal testing will be considered along with interpretation of findings and possible recommendations to the ARD Committee using case studies and hands-on practice of analyses.
Session Learning Objectives:
The participants will
1. develop an evaluation plan for assessing articulation skills in a case study scenario,
2. practice informal analyses of articulation data, and
3. interpret articulation assessment results to formulate a summary statement and recommendations to the ARD Committee.
Handouts will be sent electronically 1-2 days prior to the event. Participants are encouraged to print the handouts or bring an electronic device to be able to interact with the handouts during the presentation.
Presenter: Julia A. Eyer, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
