LETRS Units 1-4 is a professional development course of study for instructors of reading, spelling, and related language skills. It provides knowledge and tools that educators can use with any reading program. This interactive course will provide teachers with an in-depth understanding of current reading research and ways to assess student language development for prevention and intervention. Participants will learn how to plan well-balanced word recognition and comprehension instructional lessons, and they will gain knowledge on how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students. This cohort will incorporate online modules along with face to face sessions that will support the teacher’s learning. Face to face sessions will provide teachers an opportunity to discuss and interact with the content covered online before the session.

COVID-19 Adaptation: Out of an abundance of caution, this session will be offered virtually. Due to this change, the format has changed. Participants will participate in a 2-hour Zoom sessions.
Participants must have a desktop or laptop to participate, along with an adequate internet connection. Active participation of various forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit.
