Learn more about ASWC’s award winning teacher externship program. This tour is an administrative preview of the ASWC Summer Teacher Externship where administrator’s will learn the benefit of developing relationships with industry, collaborating to provide hands on interactive industry-based learning opportunities for their staff, and learn about resources to create your own district teacher externships with ASWC. Transportation by bus will be provided to and from the sites by bus from ESC-20. Very limited seating.
Participants must meet in Hickory Laurel at 1pm for briefing.
About the ASWC Summer Teacher Externship…
The ASWC Teacher Externship is an innovative and engaging program providing middle and high school teachers the opportunity to spend a week learning how to integrate industry into the classroom to improve students’ career readiness. Free to districts, teachers earn a stipend while participating in the summer externship program. Participants meet with industry leaders, tour businesses, get hands on experience with project-based learning, and develop lesson plans to implement in the classroom in the upcoming year. From integrating digital badging to learning about opportunities in the military, the ASWC Teacher Externship has consistently developed educators ability to integrate career readiness into the classroom
