With full implementation of The Every Student Succeeds Act in 2017-2018, Texas and districts receiving Title I funds, were required to examine teacher experience, out-of-field teaching assignments and teacher effectiveness to determine equitable access to effective teachers for low income and minority students.
As we move into the 4th year of implementation, TEA is requiring only those districts with identified gaps to submit an equity plan. There are 12 districts within the Region 20 service area who will need to submit a plan for the 2020-2021 school year.
This training is intended for those districts needing to submit a plan and will walk districts through the requirements of the plan along with the TEA template.
