This course targets school based occupational therapists and addresses fine motor and handwriting skills. The morning will discuss fine motor interventions for grasp and hand development through pencil, tongs and scissors labs. Attendees will receive a downloadable file of 200 fine motor labs that can be used with their caseload. The afternoon will discuss the First Strokes Multi-sensory Handwriting Program – and attendees will receive a copy of the full digital program. The multi-sensory components of handwriting will be discussed with practice labs completed online. The workshop will address number and letter reversals and attendees will receive a digital copy of the letter reversals and number reversals program. The workshop will discuss handwriting in the older child (2nd grade and above) towards the end of the day.
