How to Effectively Write and Support Post-Secondary Goals to Meet the State Performance Plan Indicator (SPP) 13 The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 mandates that each student who receives special education services have an Individual Education Program (IEP) that includes "appropriate measurable post-secondary goals" no later than the first IEP to be in effect when the student is 16 years old. Middle school and high school staff are encouraged to join this webinar to learn how to write and document these goals within the IEP – beginning at the age of 14 in Texas!

Transition Assessments: The First Step to the Transition Process: This session will include assessing student transition needs, strengths, and references & interests. Participants will be guided to develop appropriate IEP goals, post-secondary goals, courses of study, summaries of performance (SOP) and include local agencies. Hands-on examples of select formal and informal assessment techniques/tactics will be provided using interactive activities. Several resources will be shared to help educators select an age appropriate transition assessment to support the students' post-secondary goals.

Attend this webinar to learn how to take your transition plans to the next level of individualization by helping the student meet their post-secondary goals. Content will also help bolster compliance to meet the transition criteria for State Performance Plan Indicator (SPP) 13.

Guardianship and Transfer of Rights: This session is an overview of the guardianship reforms in Texas and will include: Wills, Powers of Attorney, Guardianship, and Supported Decision Making. Disability Rights Texas, will be the guest speaker to discuss all the changes and current laws on the transfer of rights and guardianship process.

Graduation for Students who Receive Special Education Services: This webinar session will provide a general overview of Texas Graduation Requirements, will special attention explaining the Graduation process for students who receive special education. The session will cover graduation options when the student participates in IEP supports. Come join us to learn more about the impact of modified curriculum, components of House Bill 165, and substitutions that are allowed for Languages other than English (LOTE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE).
