This virtual session will provide diagnosticians and licensed specialists in school psychology (LSSPs) with the additional knowledge needed to identify students with dyslexia. Participants will engage in activities to enhance their understanding of the characteristics of dyslexia and engage in discussions about the related state and federal laws. Participants will analyze case studies to practice looking for patterns of strengths and weakness that indicate dyslexia.
This session will take place virtually, and will be a combination of Zoom interaction and independent assignments completed during the 8:30-3:30pm session time. The schedule is included below:
- 8:30-10:30am - Participants will join session via Zoom
- 10:30am-2:00pm - Participants will complete individual assignments and take a lunch break
- 2:00-3:30pm - Participants will come back together to finish the session via Zoom
