ZOOM Session - G/T 6 hour update: 2E=mc2-How to convert 2E potential into academic success (Poteet ISD-Primary Teachers)

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Our 2E learners are a small population, but our ability to recognize and identify their strengths and offer them learning opportunities will have big outcomes that can be truly life altering. These students are also the most challenging to have in class if their gifts are not identified and their needs not met.

Bring your current understanding, multiply it by the experience of your colleagues, add some great strategies for finding and serving these students, then divide the work of our final project by picking a partner and putting your learning to action!

This session will be a Zoom session from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM. There will be a product component that will be submitted to complete your 6 hour credit. You will be receiving a Zoom Pre-Registration Link. Please fill out with your District E-mail.

The documents and submissions will be through Google Classroom on the day of the session. It is highly recommended to have your personal Google Account ready in the event that you are not able to join with your District E-mail.

This session is only for educators in Poteet ISD.

This Training can take the place of G/T Day 4 or 5 or a G/T 6 hour update if not previously taken.
