This webinar focuses on legal requirements and best practices in constructing Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance for Speech-Language Pathologists in both face-to-face and virtual instructions. Participants will identify PLAAFP components and goal statements in a variety of case studies.
As a result of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
a. define a PLAAFP by examining the required components and their relationships to the FIE, standards-based IEP goals, and progress monitoring,
b. examine and differentiate between legal requirements, TEA guidance, and local policy discretion
c. identify components of strong PLAAFP statements for speech and language services,
d. practice identifying SLP PLAAFPs and goal statements that meet legal guidelines in both face-to-face and virtual instruction
