Use of Quality Data to Drive Instruction

Important Session Information:

Cluster 3: Modules 5, 6 & 7.

Module 5: Academic Instruction within MTSS, focuses on using evidence-based and scientifically-researched explicit instructional practices to support high-quality instructional delivery and academic support for all students in grades K-12 in Tiers 1, 2, and 3. This module encompasses instructional support and integrates the implementation of Module 6: Culturally & Linguistically Responsive Practices. The goal of this module is to support educators in implementing of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Practices (CLRP) and their application at the district, school, and classroom levels. This session will cover practices in both assessment and instruction that optimize MTSS for students of culturally diverse backgrounds, as well as for students who are developing biliteracy or English as an additional language. The module explores approaches to behavior supports within MTSS and provides connections between CLRP and restorative practices. Module 7: Behavior,provides an overview of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within an MTSS framework as well as evidence-based practices and strategies for PBIS implementation at Tiers 1, 2, and 3.


Upon completion of Cluster 3 participants will gain greater clarity in:

  • meeting instructional needs of all students; ensuring success and high achievement for all students.
  • making connections to practice, examine examples of CLRP in schools, and become familiar with instructional tools and strategies that support culturally and linguistically diverse students within MTSS.
  • integrating systems within the district, community, and school levels to more efficiently support students’ behavioral and mental health needs.
