Day 1: Read Aloud: Who’s Talking?

Giving children the opportunity to speak during and enjoy read alouds is an indicator of high quality literacy instruction. Come learn the advantages of reading in small group and using Dialogic reading strategies to maximize oral language opportunities.  Participants will walk away with a lesson plan that is specific to the needs of their students.

Day 2: Promoting Positive Classroom Management

Young children tend to figure out what pushes our buttons, what if we didn’t have any to push? We as adults have more power over changing how we react to situations than changing children’s words and actions.  Participants will discuss where the majority of classroom challenges begin.  Participants will walk away with proactive strategies to increase positive interactions in the classroom.  Relative reflection, hands-on adult learning and humor make this a ‘don’t miss it’ session!

Day 3:  Wish you had a third Teacher? Set up your environment to share the Workload

A well organized and intentional environment allows teachers the time and the space to focus on what matters! Come learn how to create a "third teacher" in your room, giving you time to teach, talk, and show love to your students! This session will be hands on, interactive, and an all around good time!

Day 4:  Trust the Materials: Adding open ended materials to your learning environment

The materials provided in the classroom is the extent of the language and learning that will occur.  Reflect on what current materials allow for and learn how to incorporate (free and inexpensive) materials that will provide critical thinking, executive function, and language! Come ready to play and experience materials!
