Use of Quality Data to Drive Instruction

Important Session Information:


This session focuses on updating participants on regulatory guidance and best practice advice for creating Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP), IEP Goals, and for monitoring progress during challenges faced by school SLPs due to COVID-19.  Participants are encouraged to have access to a recent IEP for one of their students to reference during course discussions.  

Session Learning Objectives:  Participants will

1. evaluate sample PLAAFP statements written to address conditions experienced during COVID-19 responses for completeness and clarity,

2. modify sample IEP goals to allow for a variety of instructional format possibilities during COVID-19 responses, and

3. interpret sample IEP data taken under a variety of circumstances during COVID-19 responses.

This program has been submitted for approval of 3.0 clock hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (TSHA). TSHA approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
