Response to Intervention (RTI)
MTSS Data Considerations and Child Find

ESC-20 assists districts and campuses in defining RtI and provides trainings which assist with an in-depth understanding of the RtI approach that lead educators to successful implementation of RtI.

Important Session Information:

Determining if and when to refer a child for special education evaluation, under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, can be a tough call based on many factors including the Child Find responsibility. Data, progress and outcomes are different for each individual student. Join us for a two-part virtual session to explore discussions of data sources and considerations for teams as they review student progress to determine the next steps. This session is appropriate for all team members participating in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support/Response to Intervention type meetings.

Session Format:

Part I: This 90-minute webinar will outline data sources and considerations for data-informed decision making regarding student supports.

Asynchronous assignment outside of session parts I & II: Participants will identify one student to hypothetically apply their learning from Part I. This application will come in the form of a Guiding Question Rubric (to be provided to all participants). The asynchronous work is anticipated to require ~90 minutes to complete.

Part II: This 90-minute webinar will allow participants to briefly share their de-identified data and hypothetical recommendations. This think aloud approach will facilitate both seeing and hearing different data perspectives and analysis. Don’t worry- we will support you each step of the way!

Part II was rescheduled to 10/15/2020 from 8:30-10am due to technical issues.

Participants will receive 4.5 hours of continuing education for the entirety of this session.

Upon completion of your Connect20 registration for this session, you will receive an automated confirmation message with the link and information for joining virtually via Zoom. If you do not receive this message, please first check your spam/junk folder and if you are still unable to located the message contact Amanda Real at amanda.real@esc20.net.
