ZOOM: Using Behavior Analytic Strategies to Increase Mask Wearing Behavior in Learners with Autism

ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for families and professionals working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a variety of school settings.

This session will take place in the form of a Zoom webinar.

Participants must have a desktop, laptop or Chromebook in order to participate, along with an adequate internet connection.

Active participation of various forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit.

As we experience the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice of wearing a face mask in public is becoming more common. Not only have health officials recommended face masks to reduce the spread of the virus, many public places now require it. However, for learners with an ASD diagnosis, this can be challenging. Join us in this session to learn about the behavior principles that may be used to increase cooperation and tolerance in learners with ASD to wear a face mask.

In this Zoom session, participants will identify and discuss behavior principles that may be used to increase cooperation for learners with ASD to wear a face mask.
