Attention Disciplinary Alternative Education Programs (DAEP) Administrators...
ESC-20 (San Antonio) and ESC-2 (Corpus Christi) would like to invite DAEP Administrators to join and attend our network to share experiences as an administrator for this population. We will be able to speak, network, and problem solve with other administrators to comply with the Texas Education Code (TEC) §37.008, which is defined as an educational and self-discipline alternative education instructional program, adopted by local policy for students in elementary through high school grades who are removed from their regular classes for mandatory or discretionary disciplinary reasons.
The Standards for the Operation of School District DAEPs, Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §103.1201, soon followed in the Commissioner’s Rules concerning school safety to provide guidance and accountability measures for students while in this type of setting. Then, TAC §103.1203, Assessment of Academic Growth of Students in a DAEPs was adopted to provide direction and responsibility for administering pre and post assessment for each student assigned to the district's DAEP for a period of 90 school days or longer as required by the Texas Education Code (TEC), §37.0082.
We invite all administrators to join this network and bring your experiences, questions, ideas, and concerns so that we can learn from each other and provide support through this platform across Texas.
