This session will focus on print and cursive implementation. Topics include a discussion of research describing the impact of handwriting on student academic achievement and specific techniques for teaching handwriting. In this interactive session, participants will learn how to integrate print and digital curricula into in-school or at-home instruction and how to assign student lessons using the Interactive Digital Teaching Tool alongside the HWT Digital Student App.
Learning Outcomes:
- Articulate the importance of implementing the handwriting process and physical approach to building student’s skills in print handwriting.
- Identify a multisensory, child-friendly teaching order to teach capital letters, numbers, and lowercase letters.
- Explain how double lines lead to student writing success and be able to use simple teaching tips to help students write on any type of lined paper.
- Integrate the Interactive Digital Teaching Tool and Digital Student App to enhance and support in-class, flipped classroom and virtual instruction.
