CANCELLED: Bexar County Schools - Adult Mental Health First Aid



Professional development for school counselors is aligned with the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and supports work in the four service delivery components: Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support.


 


Important Session Information:


This course is offered at no charge to school district employees who work at an ESC 20 school that lies within the Bexar County boundaries.

School district employees that work at an ESC 20 school outside of the Bexar County boundaries will need to register for one of the other sections of Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary.


***NOTE:  This course also meets the criteria for 19 TAC §228.30 (c)(3) Texas Education Agency requires educator preparation programs to provide all candidates seeking initial certification in any certification class.
