The mind can be very fragile. Our brains need to be exercised and worked out just like other parts of our body in order to remain healthy. We can train our brain by bringing social emotional learning into the classroom, such as mindfulness activities. Mindfulness skills training can establish and maintain positive relationships and creates a calmness in the classroom or learning environment.
Participants will learn and practice mindful strategies to provide concrete ways educators can teach and learn how to cultivate children’s awareness, concentration and insight. They will also learn to teach the students to be more in-tune with their bodies which in turn will help them to learn to manage their emotions, control their inattention and/or impulsiveness, as well as, make responsible decisions.
This session will take place in the form of a Zoom session. Participants must have a desktop, laptop or Chromebook in order to participate, along with an adequate internet connection.
