This session will take place at Maple Conference Center (1314 Hines). 

Session Description: Academic vocabulary is a foundational skill that all students need in a science classroom, but a lot of students struggle. This session will provide multiple ways of teaching vocabulary effectively with limited time. Based on the research of Marilee Sprenger, learn easy-to-implement instructional strategies that can help teachers ensure that their students have knowledge and comprehension of both general and content-specific words. This session is designed for science teachers of grades 3 - 12.
